The NCLOA is pleased to offer this unique opportunity to honor a player, coach and official. Tony Cullen was a resident of Chapel Hill, played and coached at Duke University in the 80's and became an official in the early 90's. In memory of Tony, his friends set up this scholarship to help honor his name and promote lacrosse in North Carolina. For more information about Tony Cullen, please click here.
This will be our third year awarding scholarship. Up to two scholarships worth $1,000 each will be awarded this spring. Each scholarship recipient must be a current North Carolina high school lacrosse player (either Varsity or Club) and must be scheduled to attend a North Carolina College or University and play varsity men's lacrosse. Currently those schools that meet these criteria are:
Belmont Abbey College
Catawba College
Duke University
Greensboro College
Guilford College
Lees McRae College
Mars Hill College
Pfeiffer University
Queens University of Charlotte
St. Andrews College
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
Wingate University
The funds from this scholarship must be used for expenses at one of these institutions, including, but not limited to, tuition, room, board, books, fees, lacrosse uniforms and team fees.
While the winners will be announced this spring during the State Lacrosse Championships, the initial contact will be made at least 1 week prior. It is requested that winners plan on attending either the Men's Lacrosse Public or Private State Championship game.
